Gratitude
Stewardship 2012

As Paul writes to the saints in Corinth,
so too he writes to the saints at Christ Church:

You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will

produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the rendering of this ministry

not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows

with many thanksgivings to God.

[2012 Pledge Form]

Hand drawn ink of woman's profile, holding out her arms, palms up, praying | imageGratitude springs spontaneously from the heart. It cannot be commanded or demanded. It comes from remembering the gifts we have been given by God and this church family, reflecting on the precious nature of those gifts, and witnessing to their goodness by responding in pledging our heart and our treasure.

Our icon for this campaign is of a young woman standing with her arms raised to God in a spontaneous act of gratitude. It is also the first prayer posture of the early Christian community. Try standing in such a position, it opens ones whole being to the grace and love of God.

Gratitude is the theme of our 2012 Stewardship campaign. But the hope is that we begin to see that faithfulness, thanksgiving and gratitude is the path to life in Christ. Move away from the cultural negativity of the day and practice letting your heart be filled with gratitude. Give thanks to God for all you have received and for the gift God has given you in leading you to Christ Church. It cannot be commanded or demanded; it must come from your heart.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
